I actually fell in love with country music about eight years ago.  I was driving a long and Forever and Ever, Amen by Randy Travis came on the radio.  I really liked the song so I would constantly search country radio stations hoping to catch that song.  As I Listened to the station I found a lot more songs that I really liked and enjoyed listening to.  Now a days I enjoy country music so much that I do a lot to keep up with it like finding out about the artist, watching the videos and award shows.  Learning about the charties they believe in is a way I find out what the artist cares about and plus there family life.  I also like to know if they have done any other projects like movies, books, favorite recipes etc...  Keeping up with country music is something I absolutely enjoy doing.

Bad Angel

I really enjoyed the performance by Dierks Bentley, Miranda lambert and Jamey Johnson on the CMA Music Festival that aired Wednesday night on abc.  They sang "Bad Angel" together which is a really great song on Dierks Bentley new album called Up On The Ridge.  Here are the lyrics:

Bad angel, get off of my shoulder
Bad angel, let me be
I'm standin' at the crossroads
Of Temptation and Salvation Street

I woke up bound and determined
That I would not light it up today
But one drag would stop my shakin'
For right now I could go either way

Bad angel, get off of my shoulder
Bad angel, let me be
I'm standin' at the crossroads
Of Temptation and Salvation Street

Well, the cap is on the bottle
And the bottle is on the shelf
Should I take it or leave it?
Honey, how am I gonna help myself?

Bad angel, get off of my shoulder
(Get on off of my shoulder)
Bad angel, let me be
(Oh, let me be)
I'm standin' at the crossroads
Of temptation and Salvation Street

That's right
Oh, oh

Though I know I should not gamble
'Cause I can't afford to lose
She'd hang me from the rafters
With the laces in my old workin' shoes
(Yes, she would)

Bad angel, get on off of my shoulder
(Get on off of my shoulder)
Bad angel, let me be
(Won't you let me be?)
I'm standin' at the crossroads
Of Temptation and Salvation Street

Yes, I'm standin' at the crossroads
Of Temptation and Salvation Street
(Temptation and Salvation)
Of Temptation and Salvation Street

Oh, yeah
Yeah

CMA Music Festival

Last night abc aired CMA Music Festival: Country's Night To Rock.  If you did not see this show you missed an enjoyable three hours.  The show started with this saying:

On May first and second of 2010, Middle Tennessee was hit by what has been called a thousand year flood.  Many lives were lost.  Thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed, yet the human spirit would prove to be much stronger than the water.  Friends and neighbors immediately reached out to those in need and began to rebuild.  This year's CMA Music Festival is dedicated to the people of Middle Tennessee and all of the heroes who came to the aid of their neighbor.

The show opened with devastating film of the flood and the first performance was Keith Urban  and for background vocals they used Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild and Kimberly SchlapmanCarrie Underwood was next to perform.  She sang "Cowboy Casanova".  Then they showed a day in the life of Lady Antebellum.

10:07 a.m. they went to the Fan Club Party for pictures, meet and greet.
12:56 p.m. they headed off to do sound check
2:40 p.m. they had lunch
4:43 p.m. they signed autographs
7:52 p.m. was interviews and pictures with the media
Then they went out on stage and performed Our Kind Of Love.

Jason Aldean performed next with his song called "Crazy Town".  Then Tim McGraw performed "Something Like That" and "Southern Voice".

Taylor Swift did a thirteen hour autograph signing for her fans.  She kept going until the line ended which was actually fourteen and a half hours of autograph signing.

Darius Rucker performed "Come Back Song" then Rascal Flatts answered a few questions and then went on to perform "Unstoppable" and "Summer Nights".  They said it was kind of like their motto that they go on stage and play every song like it is the last time they will ever play.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood did a funny little interview then the performances went like this:
Carrie Underwood performed "Undo It" and "Last Name"
Zac Brown Band performed "Who Knows"
Kellie Pickler performed "Makin' Me Fall In Love Again"
Reba McEntire performed "I Want A Cowboy"
Uncle Kracker and Kid Rock performed "Good To Be Me" in a honky tonk.
  Miranda Lambert performed "Only Prettier"
Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins performed "Hillbilly Bone"

Then Brad Paisley answered some questions from the fans and he performed "Water"Justin moore was the next performance with his song "How I Got To Be This Way".  Then Kid Rock had a little interview and then performed "Rock And Roll Jesus" and "Born Free".

Taylor Swift took some of her fans on a bus to a secret location and sang them her new single "Mine".  Then the performances went on like this:

Keith Urban performed "I'm In"
Martina McBride performed "Wrong Baby Wrong"
Josh Turner performed "Why Don't We Just Dance"
Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert and Jamey Johnson sang "Bad Angel" together in a honky tonk.
Billy Currington performed "That's How Country Boys Roll"
Alan Jackson performed "Hard Hat & A Hammer"
Then the closing performance was Brad Paisley performance of his song "American Saturday Night"

All the performances were really great that I can't even pick a favorite.  If you missed it, keep your eyes open for an encore showing.

Sugarland "Stuck Like Glue"

Sugarland has a new single out called "Stuck Like Glue".  This is the first single off of their new album called The Incredible Machine which is due to be released on October 19,2010.  The video for this song was number five on the GAC top twenty video countdown.  Here are the lyrics to "Stuck Like Glue":

Absolutely no one who knows me better
No one that can make me feel so good
How did we stay so long together
Everybody, everybody said we never would

And just when I
Start to think they're right
The love has died

There you go making my heart beat again
Heart beat again, heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it, do it one time?

There you go pulling me right back in
Right back in, right back in
And I know I am never letting this go
I'm stuck on you

Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, stuck like glue
You and me baby, we're stuck like glue
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, stuck like glue
You and me baby, we're stuck like glue

Some days I don't feel like trying
Some days you know I wanna just give up

When it doesn't matter who's right
Fight about it all night
Had enough, you give me that look
I'm sorry baby let's make up

You do that thing that makes me laugh
And just like that

There you go making my heart beat again
Heart beat again, heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it, do it one time?

There you go pulling me right back in
Right back in, right back in
And I know I'm never letting this go
I'm stuck on you

Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, stuck like glue
You and me baby, we're stuck like glue
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, stuck like glue
You and me baby, we're stuck like glue

Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, you almost stay out
Two stuck together from the ATL out
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh feelin' kind of sick
Just a spoonful of sugar make it better real quick

I say, whoa-oh, whoa-oh, whatcha gonna do with that
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, come on over here with that
Sugar sticky sweet stuff, come and give me that stuff
Everybody wants some

Melodies that get stuck up in your head
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, stuck up in your head
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, stuck up in your head
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, stuck up in your head

Whoa-oh, whoa-oh
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh
Stuck like glue
You and me together, say it's all I wanna do

I said there you go making my heart beat again
Heart beat again, heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it, do it one time?

There you go pulling me right back in
Right back in, right back in
And I know I'm never letting this go

There you go making my heart beat again
Heart beat again, heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it, do it one time?

There you go pulling me right back in
Right back in, right back in
And I know I'm never letting this go
I'm stuck on you

Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, stuck like glue
You and me baby, were stuck like glue
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, stuck like glue
You and me baby, were stuck like glue
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, stuck like glue
You and me baby, were stuck like glue

Wide Open Tour Dates

Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan are going to be touring together this fall.  Jason Aldean's Wide Open Tour was sold out in the spring and now he is starting back up this fall. "Sometimes tours can be long and they drag out and you think they're never going to end," Jason explains.  "It's great playing onstage every night, but it's all those other things, backstage and during the day, that sometimes are just not fun, being out there with someone that you genuinely are friends with, and like hanging out with, makes the time go by a lot faster.  "Plus it's just fun,"  Jason adds. "It makes the atmosphere around the tour fun, and I think that translates to the people that come out to see the show.  That's what happened with us in the spring this year."  Country Weekly issue September 6, 2010 has an article on Jason Aldean, his tour and about winning a prize package.
